In Pur-Suit Of Sexy

Look Good, Like REALLY Good, With The REISS Personal Tailoring Experience

Although I’m not an everyday “suit-and-tie” guy, fashun sweats can only get you so far in life. There a comes an occasion, or two, throughout the year when you just have to get gussied up. Whether it’s a wedding, work event, or a fancy pants cocktail party, a proper suit is a must-have for every man.

About a month ago, I was invited to experience the REISS personal tailoring service at the New York City Bleecker Street store, and with 2 formal events on the horizon I was more than happy to oblige. The London-based brand has become known for it’s impeccable tailoring so it was no surprise that every detail in the made to measure process was perfectly executed. When they tell you that this suit is made for you, they’re not kidding. Here’s a rundown of all the little details I chose, just to give you an idea.

  • Single button, single breasted jacket style with waistcoat
  • Half lined jacket with navy lining and white piping
  • Side Vents
  • Notch lapel
  • Blue glen plaid wool fabric
  • Straight flap pockets
  • Four-button functional cuffs with sky blue button hole thread and gray marble buttons
  • Flat front trousers with cuffs and side tab waist style, cut slim and cropped above the ankle
  • Rust colored under collar melton
  • Monogram over left inside waist pocket

I literally had no idea there were so many customizations you could make to a “simple” suit, but the learning process became part of the fun. If you’re like me, and hesitant when it comes to decision-making you can rest assured that the personal tailoring team will talk you through everything. For me the main concern when it comes to suits is the fit. As a shorter guy, I tend to drown in suits sized for the average height male. With the made-to-meaure experience, I can now bypass the hassle of finding a decent tailor and have a suit that fits me perfectly.

After the initial measuring and a followup fitting, the final product was amazing! They say that every man looks powerful and confident in a suit, and that couldn’t be more true of the way I felt when I first tried it on.

The US launch of the Reiss personal tailoring service is set to launch next month at their NYC store at 309-313 Bleecker Street where Dmitriy will take excellent care of you! Learn more about this service before it’s launch on their website.
