Because Botox Is Expensive

Men’s Grooming & Skincare

Whether we like to talk about it or not, proper grooming is important for the modern man and it’s a subject worth bringing up on this blog. Your face is the first thing people see, and healthy glowing skin can make all the difference in getting that second date, landing the job, or making the right first impression.  That said, it’s important to get into the habit of a good skincare regimen while we’re young, because after all, no one wants blotchy, wrinkly, or leathery skin and besides, botox is still expensive yanno?

I recently received some new skincare products to try out so I’m sharing my thoughts on a few of them below.

Triumph & Disaster

My pal and favorite Kiwi (that’s a New Zealander for those who don’t know), Isaac, introduced me to this New Zealand skincare brand who’s philosophy is to “is to use the best of science combined with the best of nature to produce naturally derived but scientifically engineered products that work.” They make a great face wash that’s gentle enough for sensitive skin and their secret ingredient, a bit of peppermint oil, is perfect for those early mornings when your face could use a little refreshing wakeup call. Their “Gameface” moisturizer and “No Dice” sunscreen also make the perfect compliments to the face wash for rehydrating your skin, but probably my favorite product from the collection is the “Rock & Roll Suicide Face Scrub.” It has a cool smoke & wood scent and I pretty much just love that fact that it looks like mud if only because it reminds me of playing in the mud as a kid. Ahh memories..

Archipelago Milk Collection

The really unique thing about this line of bath and body products is that it contains, as it’s name suggests, milk! Not like actual milk, but a blend of dried milk solids, soy, and oat proteins. My favorite products are the oat lotion - it’s thick and absorbs well so it’s great for your hands after constant washing. I keep the travel size bottle by my sink so it’s handy. I also love the lip balm which has a really subtle coconut-y taste and a matte finish so it doesn’t look like you just applied lip gloss. Overall, it’s an interesting idea for a grooming collection so I’d definitely try it out…just not in your cereal.
