OUTFIT: Men’s Flannel Shirts
Falling For Flannel
When the temps get as low as they’ve been the past few weeks, I basically start to live in flannel shirts. They’re warm and soft and basically remind me of my favorite pj’s so what’s not to love right? You can wear them with jeans, layer them with a henley, or even dress them up with a tie and blazer. You pretty much can’t go wrong with flannel which is also a reason it makes a great gift for anyone this Christmas. Check out my feature on the American Eagle blog where I talk a little bit more about my love for flannel in their holiday gift guide series HERE.
OUTFIT: Men’s Denim & Leather
The Leather’s In The Details
There’s a lot going on in this outfit and I’m kind of obsessed with all of it so let’s discuss one by one, k? I love love love this new baseball jacket I picked up. First of all I love the color because I’ve been obsessed with gray lately and I love the how the baseball jacket was done in wool so it has a more sophisticated feel to it. The shirt is another really unique piece. The railroad stripe gives it that authentic workwear vibe and I love the outside pockets at the waist. I’d easily wear this as a “shacket” when the temps are more appropriate, so it’s really a great layering piece. Now lets talk about these pants. I’m pretty simple when it comes to pants but if I am gonna experiment I feel comfortable doing it in black. The oversized front pockets and the leather patches on the back of the leg are just the most perfect details. They have a really edgy streetwear feel to them that I’m really digging so hopefully I’ll get a lot more wear out of these jeans in the coming months.
OUTFIT: Men’s Wool Topcoat
On The Go
The holidays are always such a busy time of the year. The past few weeks and up until the new year I feel like I’m constantly running around. Between work and seeing family and friends things can get pretty overwhelming so I like to keep things as casual as possible when it comes to getting dressed. I recently picked up a great navy topcoat and I can’t get over how versatile it is. It fits over any outfit no matter how layered up I am and can be worn dressed up over a suit or dressed down with sneaks and jeans like I’m doing here. I’m also really loving this new military-inspired sweater I got from the US Army licensed brand Authentic Apparel Group. It’s a great layering piece to just throw on when you’re in a hurry. You should efinitely check out the rest of their collection online.

OUTFIT: Men’s Moto Jacket
I’ve been looking for the perfect leather biker jacket for a while now and I’m really loving the one I finally settled on. Even before I picked this one up, I already imagined what I’d wear it with. I pictured black skinnies, Converses, black sweaters, basically a lot of black. But then last weekend as I was heading out to brunch I just kinda threw it on over my “preppy-ish” outfit because I needed an extra layer for the cold and surprisingly I really liked the look. Like the contrast of the preppy tie and button down with the “edginess” of a moto jacket - kinda like Jenny Humphrey in Gossip Girl when she turns all badass in her school uniform. Anyway, I think it kinda strikes the perfect balance in the outfit and can’t wait to wear this jacket lots more.
