Sunday, Fussy Sunday

This is what you look like when you try and reinvent the wheel on a perfectly fine Sunday afternoon. I don’t want to wear a skinny belt on the weekend! I don’t want to tuck anything in! That’s for the Monday - Friday (ok, Thursday, really) livin’. I do like orange and green together, and it’s hard to go wrong with a denim jacket, so I guess it’s got that going for it (the outfit, is it a person now?), but typically I like to roll a little more low-key on the last day I have before I go back to (MTV’s) The Grind. Kinda wish I could just go back in time and work on MTV’s The Grind for realz. I think these sunglasses would help me fit in.

When the weather starts heating up, it can sometimes feel like my outfits become a bit “bland” without all my usual fall/winter layering. One of my favorite ways to inject some fun back into my warm weather looks is to start with an eye-catching pattern or print. This lightweight sweater with a cool blue Southwestern-inspired pattern from Denim & Supply by Ralph Lauren is one of my new go-to pieces for this season. Naturally, Denim & Supply has quickly become one of my favorite brands for their great use of prints and their urban take on vintage/heritage style. I was super excited to learn that they were opening up their first NYC store this week. Luckily I’ll have the chance to preview the new store tonight and get a first look at all the new pieces!

Sunglasses are good for many reasons. Mainly, they hide your face when it’s puffy and you’re hungover which is why I never take mine off all summer. Also, when you wear them people can’t see you. You’re basically invisible to all the haters and can do whatever you want which is dually useful for blatantly checking out cute guys, or girls (we don’t discriminate at Closet Freaks), or straight up staring DOWN a basic bitch. But on a serious note, I think technically they’re good for your eyes because they protect them from UV rays…or something. So cute “sunnies” are a win-win all around!
